PSA, the largest container handler at the Port of Antwerp, had a challenge. Their existing team management system handled thousands of dock workers and countless shift patterns. However, it was outdated and difficult to use.

They approached Little Miss Robot with a challenging brief: build a new team management solution that could handle their complex scheduling needs while integrating seamlessly with their existing systems.

A port never sleeps, and neither can its team management system. Each worker category needs different information: supervisors track entire teams, while dock workers manage their own schedules.

The challenge? Making all of it instantly accessible, and easy to use.

Using Capacitor as our foundation, we developed a hybrid solution that bridges the gap between mobile functionality and web-based operations. Our solution integrates directly with PSA through a sophisticated API layer, ensuring seamless data flow between systems. This smart layer connects the entire system. It’s at the heart of countless interconnected processes and multiple user types, keeping everything running smoothly.

Because of this, the system handles complex operations behind the scenes while presenting a clean, intuitive interface to its users.

Workers can manage their schedules, request leave, and swap shifts — all with just a few taps.

Security is woven into every aspect of the system. We adopt a proactive maintenance approach, which includes regular vulnerability audits using Trivy. Every piece of data flows through a dedicated proxy layer. Meanwhile, the login system operates on a separate infrastructure, giving PSA complete control over access.

Additionally, we ensure user access is always verified and sensitive data stays protected. When a user steps away, all sensitive data vanishes. And when they return to the app? They pick up right where they left off, provided they’re still authorised.

98% of PSA’s employees now use the app regularly. However, numbers alone don’t tell the full story. Workers now have better insight into their schedules than ever before. Issues are rare — and when they do arise, they’re resolved immediately.

As a result, the solution has become integral to PSA’s port operations.
