Bebat has been giving used batteries a new life for over 25 years by collecting, sorting and recycling them. Meanwhile, Fost Plus is the driving force behind household packaging recycling in Belgium. Their biggest challenge was unifying all the recycling data they’ve gathered and making it accessible to the public.
What started as a relatively simple redesign of an existing app soon grew into creating a completely new data management system and multi-platform web tool. To date, the app already has more than 700,000 active users.
Together with Bebat and Fost Plus, we built a new app and website to assist Belgians with their recycling.
The app includes everything from collection dates to the sorting guide and where to find your nearest recycling point. We invested heavily on maintenance, keeping the app up to date with the latest technologies to ensure a secure and pleasant user experience (UX).
It is available as both a native app and web application, on iOS and Android. It includes features such as collection reminders, a comprehensive sorting guide, a flexible digital calendar, and an interactive map showing recycling parks, glass bins, battery collection points, opening hours and more.
