Reimagining the customer experience across all touchpoints
How we helped FleetMaster improve usability & recognisability through CX, for their branding, website and product.

the challenge
Creating an unrivalled experience
Fleet management is no easy task. Taxi companies, car rental services, and manufacturers must continually stay on top of where their vehicles are, what condition they’re in, who’s driving them, and when they’ll receive payment. This is a complex, never-ending process. Unless you work with FleetMaster.

FleetMaster already was a state-of-the-art platform when they got in touch with us — but they had been mostly focusing on the technical aspect of their solution. But there’s a big difference between offering a great solution and your customers actually having a great experience on your platform.
That's why we partnered with this high-growth SAAS company to improve the UX on their platform — and to make their fleet management capabilities even easier.
Defining & testing userflows
After our first workshops we discovered FleetMaster was far too big to redesign in one fell swoop. We therefore had to take more of a pragmatic, sprint-based approach. Each of the main functionalities was split into a few user-flows and tackled separately, without losing track of the bigger picture.
Since great UX starts with the users. Our first goal was to gather immediate feedback on our prototypes from real users. With this in mind, we created a lot of prototypes to enable short user tests for each user flow.

Redesigning the platform’s building blocks
When we dissected the core pillars of the platform, we kept one simple question in mind at all times: what function are they supposed to achieve? Once we knew each pillar’s precise functionality, we then rebuilt them from the ground up in a series of UX systems.
These systems described exactly how everything should behave, acting as the single source of truth for both front and back-end developers.

A development-driven component library
UX doesn’t just focus on a platform's functionality — it’s also about how it looks and feels. We therefore created a custom design system for FleetMaster, based on the DevExtreme framework their team was using.
This system was entirely design-focused. We wanted to purely improve the look and feel of the application without affecting the UX decisions that we’d already made earlier on in the process.

The cherry on top
We also launched a complete rebrand of FleetMaster (including a brand new website) to accompany their application’s new look and feel.
